Stress Reduction

Bad News: We all are bombarded with stress everyday.
Good News: There are many ways to minimize the body’s reaction to stress.

Understand that stress is actually the bodies emotional response to a ‘stressor’. We can choose how we will respond in any given situation and thus minimize the harmful effect of the stressor.

Understand that the ONLY thing in this world you have control over is how you will speak and behave. Discard the expectations you have for others and instead concentrate on your personal growth goals.

Easy Ways to Decrease Stress:

  • Get out in nature. Nature has an immediate, grounding affect on the body.
  • Listen to soothing music. Music positively affects brain chemistry.
  • Practice diaphragmatic breathing:
    1. Breath in for six seconds.
    2. Hold the breath for six seconds.
    3.Breath out for six seconds.
    4. Hold the lungs empty for six seconds.
  • When feeling out of balance affirm; “I am connected to my source, thereby I gain the peace of my source.”
  • Practice progressive muscle relaxation.
  • Make a concerted effort to get enough sleep.
  • Take a food based multi-vitamin/mineral complex everyday.
  • Begin each day with the following: “Thank you spirit for this day. Please guide me and lead me so that I can be of greatest service to you today.”
  • Practice some type of stress reduction technique on a regular basis. The time when you feel the greatest resistance to practicing your stress reduction routine, is the time when you need it the most.
